It’s now easier than ever for you to ride with young children:
- Good foot support makes the journey much more comfortable for children, and good padding protects young bottoms from bumps
- Straps and padded headrests are essential because children will sometimes fall asleep on a ride
- Look for seats that can grow with your child and are compatible with panniers.

St Austell Stroll Back the Years
Activities: Trail Maintenance
Saddlebags & Secateurs is a voluntary community scheme to encourage groups and individuals to use the Clay Trails from St Austell and to help keep them in good order.
Maintenance days can involve tasks such as vegetation clearance, tree planting, repairing damage to shelters, signage, gates and boardwalks, as well as light trail surface repair as required. The work is suitable for people of all ages and abilities and children are very welcome as long as they are supervised by an adult.
Come and join us for a fun, hardworking and rewarding day! Please do encourage friends and family to come along too so that we can continue to expand as a group. Most sessions take place between 10am - 3pm or 6pm - 8pm. Please check individual events for details.
Tools and training will be provided, and no previous experience is required. We cannot promise sunshine at all the events, so outdoor clothes, waterproofs and walking boots or footwear that will stand a day out on rough paths and open country are essential. Events are organised jointly between Mobilise and Cornwall Council’s Trail ranger team.
Biscuits and drinks are provided as well as lunch on most day-tasks: please phone the office so we know how many are coming.
