Cycling solves so many problems at once: it keeps you fit, it’s fast, cheap, reliable and good for the environment too! Getting on your bike is one of the easiest ways to keep fit. It’s a lot cheaper than gym membership and much more useful.
It’s now easier than ever for you to ride with young children:
- Good foot support makes the journey much more comfortable for children, and good padding protects young bottoms from bumps
- Straps and padded headrests are essential because children will sometimes fall asleep on a ride
- Look for seats that can grow with your child and are compatible with panniers.

Activities: Cycling for Health
Why Cycle?
Cycling can help increase fitness and energy levels, help manage your weight, aid balance and coordination, strengthen you heart and reduce blood pressure, improve mental wellbeing, and much more!
It is a good activity for overall health, it can give you the freedom to travel without the car, it’s a chance to meet new friends and you can start as slowly as you wish and build up gently.
It is a great way to meet the current recommendations for physical activity of 30 minutes a day of moderate activity, and is low impact, therefore being kind on your body.
We run a number of Mobilise! led cycles across Cornwall. These cycles are sustained by volunteer support riders who have undergone the off-road support rider training, and without their hard work and commitment we wouldn’t enjoy such successful rides each week. We have regular large numbers on our rides, mainly due to the relaxed and friendly social atmosphere the groups expel, proving that cycling really is good for your health!
For general information on our cycles please download our leaflet or alternatively download our cycle programme for January to December 2012.
